Today I made a promise to myself that I would just stop.  When 8:00 pm hit, I was going to put the kids to bed, run a hot shower and sip some tea.  I think I have been having a hard time relaxing this pregnancy because my husband is constantly traveling, and I’m stuck here battling a two-year old and a 4-year old all by myself.

People keep telling me to take it easy, but honestly I don’t know how.  I mean how do I cut out time for myself and relax?  It’s still a mystery to me.  However, I challenged myself.  I needed to see if I could actually relax.   I took the kids to the park to tire them out.  And right now they are eating dinner, and soon will be getting a bath.  I’m not even going to bother with the bit of chores that need to be done around the house tonight (I’ll try not to tackle the dishes and pick up the toys that are scattered about).  That can wait until tomorrow.  I mean if I’m going to take this unwinding thing seriously then that means no chores right?

As I count down the time until 8 P.M.  I’m anxiously awaiting sipping the pregnancy tea sent to me by Rosali Tea.

This wooden spoon is so cute!

I was so excited when Rosali Tea approached me and sent me a sample box.  I love tea!  When I do get the time I love to sip tea.  It’s very relaxing to me, and I get to enjoy all of the different aroma’s and flavors.  Rosali Tea offers  a monthly subscription box with tea’s picked especially for you.  They were kind enough to send me a sample of their pregnancy, nursing, and beauty tea’s.  All of the tea’s have amazing health benefits, especially for pregnant and nursing mother’s.

Also, I’ve been focusing on weight management this pregnancy and drinking tea has been  a great way to help me cut my sweet tooth.  I’m not much of a soda or juice drinker, but for someone who is, tea’s are great low calorie alternative.

So how did my night end?  Did I do well on my challenge?  Well, I didn’t get the kids in bed at 8:00 pm.  However, I did put on a movie for them while I sip my tea and sit at my computer writing this blog.  I feel relaxed and content.  Doing this reminded me that I need to start making this a habit in order for me to unwind.  Not just during pregnancy but FOREVER!  LOL.

How do you unwind?

  1. Unfortunately I know all too well how to relax, haha! But like you said, it can be hard when you have little ones. Once they are quiet/in bed, I drop everything and sit down with chocolate. Life is too short to waste time cleaning-that’s my motto! 😉 I never understand why people never offer to watch your kids when they say, “Take it easy”. Are they delusional? Do they really think it is possible??

  2. It’s so important for moms to take time out for themselves, especially while pregnant. I’m not a big tea drinker, but this brand sounds wonderful! By the way, I love the new blog theme. 🙂

  3. The advice to take time and relax is one of those that’s easy to give to someone else, but so hard to follow through for ourselves – especially in your situation with two kids and a traveling hubby. I’m glad you found a middle ground. 🙂
