I’m originally from Columbus, Ohio and I miss it so much.  Military life has taken away from my home city, but it doesn’t change how I feel about Columbus. I don’t get visit often, but when I do I make sure to visit my favorite places.  Columbus is the capital city of Ohio. It certainly is a hidden gem, and has a lot to offer.  If you are a health conscious mom, I have a few local businesses in Columbus that you may be interested in. Be sure to read until the end for a $25 gift card giveaway to Alchemy Juice Bar + Cafe.

Bexley Natural Market

When I was in college I started caring more about my health. My mother was dealing with a lot of health issues, and I didn’t want to follow in her foot steps.  I remember seeing this store on my way to school, and I decided to stop in.  I was pleasantly surprised!

This natural market is located in the beautiful suburb of Bexley, Ohio on Cassidy Ave.  Bexley Natural Market is “a not-for-profit cooperative grocery store dedicated to providing food of the highest possible nutritional quality to our members and community”.

They have a grocery store that has organic and locally grown produce, chemical free meats, supplements, wellness products and more!  Here are a few pictures from their Instagram.

Sprout Soup

If you are a baby wearing, cloth diapering, cloth pad loving mama, then you will enjoy this store.  When I first started cloth diapering Honey Bee 5 years ago, I went into this store and was in love.  They had a wide selection of cloth diapers and baby wearing gear.  I believe I spent about two hours just browsing all of the products.  I ended up leaving with a bag full of goodies.

I loved that I didn’t have to order my cloth diapers online, and that I could go and see what I wanted in person. Currently they are only open on Saturdays, and weekdays by appointment (you can schedule online).  They also have an online store that you can order from.  Sprout Soup is located in Worthington, Ohio on High Street.

Alchemy Juice Bar + Cafe

During our last visit to Columbus, I was in desperate need of fresh juice.  I Googled juice bar and found that Alchemy Juice Bar was near our hotel. It was difficult to find at first but it is right on the corner of Parsons Ave (near German Village), and you have to drive around to the back of the building.

The atmosphere is very modern.  I ordered me and my husband the Green Monster smoothie and it was amazing!  The prices are right on par with other smoothie and juice places.  They also have smoothie bowls and toast with assortment of toppings.
