The Benefits Of Creating A Minimalist Skincare Routine

Once I started simplifying my life, it became a domino effect. I started to look for ways to minimize and simplify other areas of my life. My skincare routine was no exception. I was starting to run out of my favorite skincare products when I realized that my skincare routine needed to change (for reasons I will discuss later in this post). However, I was apprehensive about making any changes because the skincare products I was using worked! So why would I change? And how would I go about making a minimalist skincare routine?
Minimalist Skincare Routine
How to Get Glowing Skin
While browsing Pinterest one day. I came across a blogger who mentioned the book Glow The Nutritional Approach to Naturally Gorgeous Skin. The pictures were beautiful, but besides that, the author Nadia Neumann talks about how to change your skin from the inside out. That is when I realized that maybe I could simplify my skincare routine and it wouldn’t be so scary.
Nadia gives food recipes and skincare recipes, both work together to help you achieve beautiful skin. There is also a chart in the book to help you track what you ate and how it affects your skin. After reading the book, I decided that I’m going to give it a try.
The Benefits Of Creating A Minimalist Skin Care Routine
What I love most about the recipes in Nadia’s book is that all of the recipes are simple. It doesn’t have crazy ingredients are any harsh chemicals. All of the skincare recipes are made with all natural products. She uses ingredients that are easy to obtain as well.
The inner frugalista in me rejoices at the fact that diy skincare is easy on my budget. For example, with my DIY hair care products, I was able to make several batches of my products for the cost of 1 or 2 of my store bought products!
You Get to Know Your Skin
It can be scary at first, but making your own skincare products will allow you to truly get to know your skin. Most of us (myself included) are so out of touch with our bodies, that we really don’t know what irritates or skin or works for our skin.
Makes Your Routine Become More Sacred
I hate to sound cheesy but it’s true. I find myself taking more time and really enjoying the process of using the products that I make. It makes it something special and personal to me. And since I’m a mom, it’s my own little slice of time for my self-care.
When To Start
I will start my diy skincare routine within the next couple of weeks. I will post a follow-up to let you know how the products are working and which products I chose to make.
