I’m due any day now, and I’m preparing for all things newborn!  I have everything in place for our new arrival.  Well, almost everything.  I’m still waiting on my breast pump which I hope to receive soon.  As I mentioned in my previous post about Can You Prevent Postpartum Depression I am going to pump a lot more for this baby.  I really want to have a nice breast milk stash stored in the freezer.

I’m going to be using Premama to help boost my milk supply so I have enough to feed my daughter and pump. Premama is a line of supplement mixes for pregnant and lactating mothers (which can use prenatal and postnatal).  They are perfect for women who have a hard time swallowing vitamins.

The Premama supplement mix line consist of :

  • Premama Fertility
  • Premama Essentials
  • Premama Essentials + DHA
  • Premama Lactation
  • Premama Digestive Aid
  • Premama Lactation

Premama can be found at Meijer stores in the vitamin section. To find a store nearest you click here for the store locator.   It was really easy for me to find.  They also contain Folic Acid in levels similar to prescription prenatal vitamins and equal or great than most over the counter prenatal vitamins.  I would say that’s pretty impressive.  Not only that, but Premama also contains Omega- 3 Fatty Acids and non-constipating iron, which is only found in prescription prenatal supplements.  Premama is great for women who are trying to conceive, pregnant or lactating.  Make sure you read until the end to get a chance to enter to win Premama Sample.

Very Berry Lactation Smoothie

You can mix Premama with water or your favorite smoothie.  I plan on using Premama in my Very Berry Lactation Smoothie (recipe below).  The flavor of the Premama Lactation mix taste great in this smoothie recipe.  I couldn’t wait to get home to make my very first smoothie.

  1. Yummy! Sounds so good! I suffered a bit with low supply with my second. Or at least thought I did…I could never be sure. She was chubby and all that, but I couldn’t pump an ounce to save my life. I should’ve bought something like this to try. Instead I just ate copious amounts of food and got fatter and more stressed. Haha!

  2. It sounds like you have a great plan for your new little one. My neighbor went to the hospital thinking it was time, docs sent her home. They got home and she immediately said, um we have to go back – my water broke! Sometimes, even the docs don’t know if it is go time. Hope you have the labor and delivery you want and everyone is happy and healthy!

  3. That sounds so good. I love smoothies. You have such incredible and informative posts. I nursed 1 1/2 years my first three and 2 years my last one. I loved nursing. I would have tried premama. 🙂

  4. I hadn’t heard of Premama before, and it sounds fantastic! I tried fenugreek for my son for a bit but I think it was too late at that point. I would love to try this supplement (and delicious smoothie) with our next, thanks!

  5. I really like Premama! I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks, with no adverse effects whatsoever. I like knowing that the ingredients are all-natural. And it’s so easy to take!
